10 Great Things to Do In Toronto

If you’re spending time in Toronto, the last thing you’ll have to worry about is boredom. Ontario’s capital city has a number of attractions that will keep you busy. A safe and comfortable taxi cab in Toronto can take you to any of the 10 attractions below that will have you counting down the days till you return to this amazing city.

Casa Loma

You might not expect to see a castle in Canada, but Toronto has one of the best. Casa Loma was completed back in 1914, but nowadays people can take a tour of the beautiful Gothic Revival and even rent the castle out for private events. Bring your camera because each room is an example of opulence and elegance the likes of which most of us will never see again. Feel free to take a Toronto taxi over any day of the week, when Casa Loma is open between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

CN Tower

On the other side of the architectural spectrum is CN Tower. Located at the center of downtown, you can take a Toronto taxi there and enjoy a number of other venues afterward. The tower stretches 1,815.4 ft. above the rest of Toronto, which made it the world’s tallest building when it was first built in 1976. CN Tower kept this designation, too, until 2010 when Canton Tower was built. You can actually travel to the top to see what a view from one of the seven wonders of the modern world looks like.

The Hockey Hall of Fame

When in town, sports lovers will have a hard time resisting a Toronto taxi ride over to the Hockey Hall of Fame. There’s no better place for the hall of fame either, considering hockey is Canada’s national sport. Inside the building, visitors can enjoy over 15 different exhibits that cover the sport’s long history. Do a few stretches before you get there, though, so you can try out the Hall of Fame’s “Be a Player” attraction that allows you a shot on the computerized goalkeeper.

The Distillery District

It wasn’t too long ago that you’d think your Toronto taxi was lost if it took you to the Distillery District. You would have found yourself surrounded by vacant buildings with Victorian architecture and not much else. But nowadays, the district is considered the hippest in Toronto. Victorian architecture still stands, but provides a great contrast to all the new bars and restaurants frequented by tourists and locals alike.

Royal Ontario Museum

The largest museum dedicated to world culture in all of Canada is just a Toronto taxi ride away from anywhere in the city. Every year, over a million people visit the Royal Ontario Museum to take in exhibits that cover everything from the dinosaurs to ancient European history and even more current events. No matter what you want to learn about, chances are the Royal Ontario Museum will have something you’ll be interested in.

Centreville Amusement Park

Although it’s located on Middle Island, you can take a Toronto taxi to the ferry and be just moments away from all the fun at Centreville Amusement Park. This isn’t your ordinary amusement park though. While you’ll have no problem finding a ride that will make you scream out loud, the family-friendly attraction also aims to teach visitors lessons about the history of life in Canada.

The Art Gallery of Ontario

Those of you who love art will want to jump in a Toronto taxi and ask to be taken to the Art Gallery of Ontario. With over 80,000 works on display, some going all the way back to the 1st century, you’ll be treated to an eyeful you won’t soon forget.

Black Creek Pioneer Village

Once you leave your Toronto taxi and enter into Black Creek Pioneer Village, say goodbye to the modern world. That’s because the tourist attraction is more than just a display of artifacts from the 1800s. Here you’ll find actual buildings, animals and even people fully immersed in a time long passed. Want to learn more about Toronto’s history? Feel free to ask any of the villagers going about their daily lives.

The Toronto Zoo

No animal lover can resist a trip to the zoo and Toronto has Canada’s largest. At the Toronto Zoo, you’ll find over 500 species represented including apes, elephants and even lions. You’ll be able to get up close and personal, but resist the urge to take one of them back with you in your Toronto taxi.

The Harbourfront Center

Whether you’re in town for a show or not, make time to take a Toronto taxi over to the Harbourfront Center. Besides hosting a number of performances throughout the year, the center also offers a beautiful view of the city’s waterfront where you can take an actual marina tour.

While these amazing attractions are all inside the city of Toronto, they’re spread out enough that you’ll need a cab to enjoy them. With so many to choose from, be sure yours is both safe and comfortable so you arrive at your destination ready to enjoy yourself.
