How to get to Belfountain Conservation Area in Caledon by Car

The Belfountain Conservation Area is located in the historic rural community of Belfountain Village. The park offers stunning views of the Niagara Escarpment. If you decide to visit this place you can see a waterfall, cave, fountain, and a suspension bridge. This conservation area is a family-friendly one and is great for weddings, fly fishing, enjoying the beautiful scenery, walking trails, fall colors, and photography.

You can plan a picnic and pack a lunch to take with you, and for people who love hiking, there is half an hour hiking trail in nature. Tourists facilities like picnic tables with seating and clean washrooms have been built. The area is not too large, and the parking spot is also quite small so that it may be crowded on weekends. You should start early if you want to park there and explore the whole day.

Driving Directions

It will take you about an hour to reach the Belfountain Conservation area if you are starting from Toronto on a nice day. To get there, you must take the Forks of the Credit scenic road, which in itself will afford a lot of photo opportunities. This route starts from Hurontario on Highway 10, and it leads straight to the park. This drive is probably the most scenic one within several hours driving distance of Toronto.

If you are driving from Toronto, you can also take the Gardiner Expressway West from Bay Street. Continue on the expressway for some time, and then take ON-427 N and ON-410 N to Hurontario Street in Caledon. Drive along the Hurontario Street, King St or Peel Regional Road 9 and Mississauga Road to Credit Park Street in Belfountain.

An alternative route is to take ON-427 North to Mississauga Road/Peel Regional Road 1 N in Mississauga. Take exit 336 from ON-401 West and follow Mississauga Road to Credit Park Street in Caledon to reach Belfountain.

You can also take the Gardiner Expressway West from Bay Street and continue on it. Take ON-427 North and ON-401 West to Trafalgar Road or Halton Regional Road 3 in Halton Hills. Take exit 328 from ON-401 West. Continue on Trafalgar Road or Halton Regional Road 3. Take 9 Line to Credit Park Street in Belfountain, Caledon.
